It was Week 11, the last week for our fieldwork. Project J finally reached the end. An online closing ceremony was held on 28 May 2021 (Friday) at 8:00 p.m. to give all of the committee members and the participants wonderful memories. I̶t̶ ̶w̶a̶s̶ ̶m̶y̶ ̶b̶i̶r̶t̶h̶d̶a̶y̶ ̶t̶o̶o̶.̶

There was a prize-giving session for the winners of Project J who had submitted their assignments about the Donald card game. I was glad that some of the participants gave it a try and took this challenge to apply their programming knowledge gained from Project J.

I also appreciated all of the efforts we put in to make Project J a success. It would be a good experience in giving back to the community. We engaged actively with the community especially the secondary school leavers to teach them something useful for their future. With this prior experience in social engagement, I would definitely become more passionate about sharing my skills and knowledge in a systematic way with the community in near future.

“Sharing knowledge is the most fundamental act of friendship. Because it is a way you can give something without losing something.”

Besides, I learned the importance of teamwork throughout Project J. Everyone must cooperate and make equal contributions to the team or else this project would be a total mess. I also realised that the power of teamwork is unlimited, which then led us to our success in Project J.

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much”

— Helen Keller

After this project, I was more willing to voice out my opinion through the right channel such as group discussion, polling and more. This was due to the management team took every suggestions and critic into account so that all of us could keep improving our performance from time to time. When we faced conflicts, we carried out the polls and followed the majority opinion as a guideline to take our next step.

Lastly, remember that although Project J has ended, our journey of learning never ends, it is just the beginning of a whole new journey. There are many things waiting for you to discover in the world of programming.
